SUMMARY:⭐Arizona Game and Fish Department: Citizen Science Case Study - Land Snails in Arizona
DESCRIPTION:Citizen or community science is a way for the public to get involved in science by incorporating volunteers in different aspects of the research process. For years\, the Arizona Game and Fish Department has relied on volunteers to help us carry out our mission to conserve Arizona’s diverse wildlife resources. Since April is Citizen Science Month\, we decided to host a series of webinars designed for educators to highlight some of these projects that depend on volunteers. \nIn this session\, Jeff Sorensen\, the Department’s invertebrates program manager\, will be joining us to discuss the Land Snails of Arizona project which recruits the help of hikers and other outdoor recreationists to submit snail observations. Come learn about how our community is helping us better understand desert snails. \nThis FREE webinar will last approximately 45 minutes. It will include a short presentation followed by a Q&A. Then\, our educators will briefly highlight related resources you can bring back to your students. Participants will also receive a professional development certificate. \nPlease use the Zoom form to register: https://us06web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_RySDh3tRQuSGfKWse1ddXw \n  \nPart of Greater Phoenix City Nature Challenge 2026 \n \nArizona SciTech Festival Season is here!
