
Boyce Thompson Arboretum: Landscape Design Workshop
Curious about what type of tree to plant on your property? Interested in options for low-water use plants?
At our Landscape Workshop, you can learn the principles of landscape design and what considerations to make when choosing plants suitable for the Sonoran desert environment.
This 2-hour workshop will give participants an opportunity to renew their home garden’s aesthetic by asking BTA Horticulturists for advice and guidance.
Workshop Schedule:
● 45 minute presentation
● 1 hour workshop fine-tuning your home garden design
● 15 minutes guided tour of the Fall Plant Sale
Participants will gain a better understanding of landscape design for the desert and begin to apply that knowledge to their home gardens.They will learn principles of site analysis, design programing, and the rules of thumb for choosing a plant palette.
Participants are encouraged to bring photos and/or sketches of their personal yards for workshopping. Supplies will be provided.
