Arizona State Parks and Trails: Romero Site Interpretive Hike

First and Third Monday of the Month   9 a.m.

Join our local interpretive guides for a hike to the Romero Ruins. With this program, you’ll walk through one thousand years of Hohokam history in 90 minutes.

Meet at the Romero Ruins ramada on the first and third Monday of each month at 9 a.m., starting November 6 and continuing through March.

Expect 77 steep steps to the Romero site before the trail levels off into an easy hike. Wear closed-toed shoes, a hat and bring water. Caution: Due to heavy rains the trail crossing the wash may be flowing. Please be prepared to walk through cold ankle ankle-deep water. Extra socks, garbage bags, or water shoes are useful.

Limited to 20 people.

Please note there are NO Restrooms at this site; the nearest restroom to the Romero Ruins parking lot is in the picnic area.

There is no cost to this program, but park entrance fees apply or bring your Arizona State Parks annual pass.
