
Arizona State Parks and Trails: Prehistoric Cordage
Join Al Cornell and learn about the prehistory of cordage. The program will include a table display of a variety of plant samples and cordage made from them, “Anatomy of Yucca Cordage” display with examples of prehistoric Yucca cordage uses and some samples of cordage from bark, leaf, root, fruit, seed, animal hairs, animal skins, and animal sinew.
The audience will also be offered the opportunity to learn how prehistoric southwest cultures produced their two-ply cordage with hands-on instruction and mentoring.
Program located at Quail Loop Amphitheater behind Quail Restrooms.
If camping with us, walking to the amphitheater is recommended due to parking restrictions. Additional parking is available near restrooms. Please park in designated spaces only.
Park entrance fee does apply or bring your annual state parks pass. No additional cost for program.
