Lost Dutchman State Park is home to the Arizona Blonde Tarantula (Aphonopelma chalcodes), among 14 in the state! Learn everything from the skin they shed to the homes they inhabit to animals they prey on. The tarantula is not nearly as dangerous as it seems and it’s actually a very gentle and docile creature, while still maintaining its venomous edge.
