Arizona State Parks and Trails: Plant Responses to the 2020 Bighorn Fire

An Arizona Native Plant Society guide will lead a hike with commentary along the Romero Canyon Trail.

We will walk through landscapes that were burned in the June-July 2020 Bighorn Fire.  We will learn about the dynamics of the fire and the plant growth after the fire.  As we walk along lower Romero Canyon, we will see the remarkable native plant response to recent invasive plant eradication efforts.  Wear a hat and bring plenty of drinking water. Dogs will not be allowed on this hike.
