Arizona State Parks and Trails: Guided Geology Hike at Oracle

Did you know that Oracle State Park was once covered by warm, shallow seas?  Are you familiar with the numerous faults that uncovered rocks once buried more than 5 miles beneath the surface?

The Park offers visitors the opportunity to experience the unique geology of the Santa Catalina Mountains area. Oracle State Park’s volunteer geologist, Tom Buckley, will lead a 1¼ mile (90 minute) tour explaining the rocks, landforms, and dynamic geology of the surrounding area. No prior geology experience is needed. Meet at Oracle State Park’s Group Use Area Parking Lot. Ages 18 and up, please.
