Arizona – Sonora Desert Museum: Monsoon Botany Hike

Yes, it’s hot and humid, and that is the way many of our desert plants like it!

Join Museum botanist/horticulturalist Massimo Boscolo on an early morning walk up King Canyon to see the Sonoran Desert dressed in her finest green. Learn about flowering cycles, drought strategies, and plant-weather cues.

Member price is 10% less.

Where to Meet:   Front Entrance to the Museum

What to Bring:   Snack, water in a reusable bottle, notepad and pencil, and walking stick (optional).

What to Expect:   We will walk up a wash which has a couple of climbs up rocky outcrops, and might return on a wide trail. Total hiking distance is two miles. Wear comfortable, sturdy footwear. There are no restrooms in the field. Program will operate rain or shine.

Cancellation:   If cancellation is made more than 15 days in advance, payments will be refunded minus a $25 administrative fee. No refunds can be made within 15 days.
