Arizona Science Teachers Association: 5th Grade Deeper Dive – Space & Matter
Come join us for a deeper dive into 5th grade science led by a 5th grade teacher.
On day one, we will be exploring a space science unit titled “Full Circle Learning: Earth, Moon, and Sun Patterns”. Day two we will dive into a physical matter unit titled “It Matters”. Both days you will be immersed into the content, completing activities, and utilizing the 5E model for science teaching while collaborating with other teachers from across the state.
Grade Focus: 5th Grade
PD Hours: 12 Hours
Date: Monday, July 8th and Tuesday, July 9
Time: 8am-3:30pm
Location: Mountain View High School
3901 W. Linda Vista Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85742. We will be in the two story building on the NW part of campus – Room K101

· Transportation Stipend
50+ miles – 99 miles one way = $250;
100+-149 miles one way = $300;
travel 150+ miles one way = $250 for mileage +$100 for lodging — totaling $350
· Follow-up Session at ASTA Conference – supported to attend with free registration ($225 value)
· $300 Stipend ($200 for attending workshop; additional $100 for providing feedback of unit and/or /implementing the unit
Cost/Commitment Fee: $35 for ASTA members; $50 for Non-ASTA members
