Arizona Game and Fish Department: Wild About Arizona – Bat Netting along the Verde River

Arizona is home to 28 species of bats, many of which live and forage right in our own backyards. Here’s your chance to see these fascinating creatures up close.

This is an exciting opportunity to meet these misunderstood and fascinating creatures in person. The $25.00 registration fee is used to fund wildlife viewing enhancements and opportunities statewide. Monies raised from this and similar activities helps fund live streaming wildlife cameras such as the Whitewater Draw sandhill crane cam, bald eagle nest cam, pupfish cam, bat roost cam, and coming soon a barn owl cam. A presentation on bat biology and ecology will be given while we wait for bats to be captured.

Needle Rock Recreation Area, 3 miles north of Dynamite Road on Forest Road 20. Limited to 25 people age 10 years and older.
