Tucson Botanical Gardens: Nature Journaling – Draw and Paint Your World

When we observe the world around us in sketches and illustration, we see so much more detail. Learn drawing and watercolor painting techniques that will allow you to capture and communicate what you observe. This creative class will guide students of all skill levels to closely observe nature and in turn create beautiful illustrations inspired by plants and animals of the desert.

This class is virtual via Zoom.

Sign Up For This Class

Class participants will receive a Zoom link for the live class two hours before the class begins.

All online classes are recorded and participants receive a video replay that is available for two weeks after the date of the class.

Art materials are not included in the price of this class. Please provide your own materials.

Supplies: Paper, pencil, eraser, watercolor paper, watercolor paints, brushes (round and flat if possible), water.

Instructor: Devon Meyer

As an artist, Devon is constantly inspired by nature. The elaborate patterns and gorgeous colors seen in a plants, birds or flowers are reflected in the work she does. Watercolor is her favorite medium but she also works in oil, charcoal, pen and ink and colored pencil.
