Engineering For Kids of Phoenix Metro Summer Camp @ Sky Zone Trampoline Park: Scratch Jr. Programming & Design and Natural Disasters with Virtual Reality (Grades K – 2)
In this popular program, campers will jump into the wide world of coding by learning how to sequence blocks in Scratch Jr. to build scripts and loops of varying complexity.
They’ll design funny scenes, feed a pet monster, explore a magical land, race to the finish line, and more! This fun-filled introductory programming course will spark campers’ imaginations and show them just how easy it can be to design a game. We’ll be using our kid-friendly tablets in a 1:1 ratio as well as supplementing some of the lessons with physical activities to keep a good balance between screen time and hands-on learning.
PM Session: Natural Disasters with Virtual Reality
Take engineering design to the next level with this up-close look at natural disasters. Working to better understand the elements at play in the world around them, Natural Disasters Camp has kids collaborating on structural challenges as they model earthquake stability, hurricane winds, system integrity, and much more on their quest to understand how buildings are designed to resist outside forces. Culminating in a final world-building exercise with virtual reality as a supplement, this camp is a real STEM storm!

The health and well being of your child, our staff, and the public has always been our top concern in running camps. We want you to rest assured that we’re taking many precautions to keep your child safe. These steps include but not limited to:
- greatly lowered enrollment caps to ensure proper distancing in our camp spaces (8-12 students, size depends on classroom space)
- sanitizing touch-points and camp materials routinely
- staff and campers sanitizing hands frequently
- staff mandated to wear face masks
- monitoring facility capacity & policies prior to taking a break (entertainment facilities only)
