SUMMARY:Verde Valley Birding and Nature Festival: Birding by Ear
DESCRIPTION:Birding by ear is a great way to help with species identification. Sometimes it’s the call of a bird that clinches that final ID. You’ll want to attend this workshop to prepare for the Sunday field trip but even if you don’t get on his trip, this will be a worthwhile workshop for all birders. (Pairs with Birding by Ear Field Trip ( https://scitechinstitute.org/events/verde-valley-birding-and-nature-festival-birding-by-ear-with-homer-hansen-2/ ) on Saturday morning).\nRating: 1\nTransportation: Walk or shuttle\nCost: $30\n \n \n \nPart of the Verde Valley Birding and Nature Festival ( https://na.eventscloud.com/website/91454/home/ )\nJoin us 100 miles North of Phoenix in North Central Arizona’s Verde Valley for the Verde Valley Birding and Nature Festival. Experience birding during the peak Spring migration season at Dead Horse Ranch State Park on the banks of the Verde River. Close proximity to the Verde, Oak Creek, Sycamore Creek, and other perennial waters offers a wide selection of guided tours, hikes, and workshops in one of Arizona’s richest birding habitats.\nOur experienced guides have extensive knowledge of birds and the unique habitat that makes this region special. The festival, presented each April by Friends of the Verde River, is a purpose-driven community benefit organization and 501(c) 3 non-profit working to preserve one of the last perennial flowing rivers in the American Southwest.\nFestival site is at Dead Horse Ranch State Park.\n
