SUMMARY:Verde Valley Birding and Nature Festival: Watershed Report Card
DESCRIPTION:Friends of the Verde River and The Nature Conservancy recently released the 2025 update to the Verde Watershed Report Card, which was originally released in 2020.\nThe Watershed Report Card is a tool that is designed to assess the health of the watershed, raise public awareness, and guide decision-makers on how best to support the long-term sustainability of the watershed. Since the 2025 scores were released last December, there has been coordination throughout the watershed to turn these results into action. In this talk, you will learn more about the 2025 Watershed Report Card scores, what you can do as a citizen to help improve them, and what work is underway since the release.\n \n \n \nPPart of the Verde Valley Birding and Nature Festival ( https://na.eventscloud.com/website/91454/home/ )\nJoin us 100 miles North of Phoenix in North Central Arizona’s Verde Valley for the Verde Valley Birding and Nature Festival. Experience birding during the peak Spring migration season at Dead Horse Ranch State Park on the banks of the Verde River. Close proximity to the Verde, Oak Creek, Sycamore Creek, and other perennial waters offers a wide selection of guided tours, hikes, and workshops in one of Arizona’s richest birding habitats.\nOur experienced guides have extensive knowledge of birds and the unique habitat that makes this region special. The festival, presented each April by Friends of the Verde River, is a purpose-driven community benefit organization and 501(c) 3 non-profit working to preserve one of the last perennial flowing rivers in the American Southwest.\nFestival site is at Dead Horse Ranch State Park.\n
