Viasat to Deploy Satellite Broadband in Tempe

Viasat Inc. will be the internet service provider (ISP) for the City of Tempe’s 8th Annual Geeks Night Out, the March 20th Signature Event of the Arizona SciTech Festival. This will be the first public demonstration of Viasat’s Community Wi-Fi hotspot service in the State of Arizona, and will pilot #ConnectAZ – our initiative to bring high-speed internet to local + rural communities. The demo will also feature an educational component on how our paradigm of “disruptive innovation” enables rapid advances in technology.

Please join us at the Tempe Community Complex (3500 S. Rural Rd.) on Wednesday, March 20th from 4:30 – 7:30 pm (with your internet-connected gadgets!) as we deliver bandwidth from Earth orbit in support of students, families, and individuals attending Geeks Night Out.

Please circulate to parties of interest. Thank you!
